A hands-on learning experience where students explore forest resources, traditional knowledge, biodiversity, and sustainable forest management through immersive activities.
About
the Trip
This program introduces students to community forest ecosystems, traditional forest knowledge, and sustainable forest resource use through experiential learning.
Students will explore how community forests function as living systems, learning how plants, trees, and natural materials are traditionally and sustainably used by local communities.
Through hands-on activities, students will develop an understanding of forest stewardship, biodiversity, and responsible resource use.

the classroom.
Located in Bang Krachao, the experience takes students into a living community forest where learning happens through direct observation, exploration, making, and reflection.

A Morning
in the Forest

Welcome to the Forest
Arrival, welcome drink, introduction to the community forest, and mindfulness practices.
– 10:00
Natural Tie-Dye from Forest Plants
A hands-on activity using natural pigments from forest plants.
– 10:30
Forest Detective Walk
Students search for assigned plant species, collect a leaf sample responsibly, and discover the plant's uses and ecological importance.
– 12:00
Three Learning Stations
Students are divided into small groups and rotate through three hands-on activities, allowing every student to experience all three.
Forest Walk & Study
A guided forest walk where students explore biodiversity, learn how forests store carbon, visit a stingless bee honey setup, and understand sustainable forest-based livelihoods and responsible resource use.
Herbal Product Making
Students create simple herbal products using forest-sourced ingredients, learning about medicinal plants and traditional forest knowledge.
Compost & EM Mudballs
Students learn how compost is made from organic materials and create EM mudballs used to support healthier water ecosystems through natural microbial processes.

Mindful Lunch
A mindful sustainable lunch, time in nature, and a discussion about food waste.
